Laura Loves ...

River Island Jewellery !!!

I love River Island jewellery. They are so affordable and are always so on trend. The selection is so vast you can find something for every outfit. Plus the quality is amazing they last for ages and wear really well!

I'm so obsessed that my boyfriend literally has to remove me from the jewellery section before I buy every piece in there! As soon as I see them shining at me I'm attracted like a moth to a light, there's just no stopping me!

Here's a few bits I picked up during the week when I was supposed to be Christmas present shopping!!!
All for under €20 in total! Bargain!

Candy Cane Nails

These nails are super duper easy to do and look really festive during the Christmas period!

This post is just a quick simple step by step tutorial on how to do these nails.

It's important to prep your nails properly:
1. Cut your nails down short
2. Remove all traces of nail varnish from your nails
3. File away any jagged edges
4. Using a cuticle remover, remove any overgrown cuticles

You will need the following nail art ingredients :
Clear Top Coat, Red Nail Varnish (sparkly is more festive), White Nail Varnish, Nail Art Stripping Tool, Silver / Gold Glitter

5. After prepping your nails the next step is to apply a base coat I chose white nail varnish to make the red really stand out
6. After it dries, apply two coats of red nail varnish
7. After it dries, using your stripping tool and white nail varnish, stripe diagonal white lines across your nails (except the middle finger)
8. After this dries, apply a top coat and while your nails are still wet pour some glitter onto your middle nail (seal the glitter on with a final layer of top coat)

It's literally that simple and the results are great.

Hope you enjoyed this!

Pyjama Suit

I love this outfit...
It stands out from the crowd, but it's definitely daring!

Shirt / H&M , Trousers / H&M , Heels /M&S
Belt /Penneys (Primark) , Bag / Parfois
Photographer: Sarah Orr www.sarahorrphotography.com

I call it my pyjama suit for a reason and I sometimes catch people giving me strange looks when I wear it (good or bad I don't know! Ha!). But I just think it's fantastic! I love the colour and the geometric print. I definitely think this look means business, it's quite formal, so it's great for work.

The top and trousers are separates which is brilliant because it's super easy to dress them down for a more casual look. I wear the shirt more often, pairing it with jeans and boots. The trousers I wear with a slouchy black tee tucked in the front.
H&M are brilliant for co-ord pieces like this and the prices are very reasonable.

I got my bag in Parfois in Portugal during the summer. I had never heard of the shop until I found it while rambling around the little cobble stoned streets of Cascais looking for holiday gifts for friends. I used to work in Brown Thomas and people always ask me if I got the bag there, which says a lot about its quality. (Check out my Parfois post here). The bag is quite sports luxe, I just think it finishes the outfit off perfectly. I bought my shoes in M&S for an interview YEARS ago. They are very classic (I'm pretty sure they still sell the same ones today) and a fantastic staple in anyone's shoe collection!

What do you guys think of this look? I'd love to know!

Have a great week,

This is a typical casual outfit for me. It's super comfy but still looks fashionable. I'd wear this look to the cinema, out shopping or for a casual stroll.

Here's a little instagram selfie of me wearing my berry hat and blazer while shopping in Urban Outfitters.

Parfois Comes To Dublin City !

Yesterday I attended a blogger event celebrating the opening of Parfois on Mary Street in Dublin. I was so excited by this after having stumbled upon the shop in Portugal during the summer (I spent all of my holiday money here)!

Greeted at the door I was welcomed in and given Butlers hot chocolate to warm up from the cold!
I was immediately taken by the bright, modern and dazzling open space full of every type, style and colour of accessory a girl could ever ask for!

For those of you whom have never heard of Parfois before, it is a very on trend accessories shop that prides itself on its affordable, high quality products.

The collection hosts everything from grunge cut out boots, to lady like pearls, to jet-setter weekend bags, the list goes on and on. The icing on the cake is that prices start from as little as €1.50! (The most expensive item being €55, a large patent faux croc weekend bag with wheels, stunning)! Plus they have weekly stock drops which ensures products are fresh, new and fashionable.

Here is a taster of some of the products available in store now:

The event was hosted by the gorgeous Anouska, who presented her favourite Parfois picks

How gorgeous are these nails!?!

I recently received these Little Mix Leigh-Anne, Jamaican inspired false 'press-on' nails from the gorgeous Ciara Cummins at Slatterys Communications. Not only do they look fantastic but they are such an innovative product.

Rather than using harsh glues to glue on the nails, they are 'pressed-on' using double sided adhesive tabs! They are faaaaar less damaging on the nails than glue and are so easy to apply!

The pack contains 24 nails (10 various sizes), a nail file, instructions and 24 double sided nail shaped adhesive tabs. To apply, firstly your nails are cleaned, an adhesive tab is placed ontop of your own nails and smoothed out. The outer protective foil surface of the adhesive tab is removed revealing an adhesive area in which the false nail is placed upon. With a bit of pressure press the false nail down ontop of your own nail (this is believed to activate the sticky tab and secure the nail).

On the box it is said that the nails last up to 5 days but on the instruction leaflet they are said to last 7 days, I was curious as to which one was true. However my nails only lasted 2 days, which I was very disappointed with as I had fallen in love with these nails. I put this down to the fact that my work is very hands on,I am constantly wearing surgical disposable gloves and washing my hands. The best thing is they didn't damage my own nails or leave any residue on them!

This product definitely gets the Laura Loves seal of approval. I would buy these nails again but I'd make sure to wear them for special occasions only.

Have a fabulous weekend!

U Magazine Fashion Diary

On the 9th of November I did a "fashion diary" photo-shoot with Sarah Orr Photography for Ireland's U magazine. It was a day long event in which I had to pose for 10 photos with 10 different looks. I had spent the week prior to the shoot planning, organising and getting my outfits together. The day itself was exhausting but thoroughly enjoyable!!!

The photographer, Sarah Orr, was lovely, so patient and very talented. I was sent the photos the next day making sure I liked them. Needless to say I loved them. I was given a few days to send the captions to U magazine. I felt totally in control from beginning to end. The magazine went on sale last Tuesday the 26th of November and I'm delighted with how it turned out.

It was great experience and will be something I'll cherish for years and years.

Hope you all liked it !!!
